Q: I am unable to connect Easy Capture to my VCR / camcorder / DVD player – what can I do?

A:  When you buy a VCR, camcorder or DVD player you are usually supplied with an ‘RGB lead’. This lead has three yellow, red and white connectors at each end, or alternatively it may have these connectors at one end and a Scart jack at the other end. If you no longer have the RGB lead which is required to connect your Easy Capture to your existing VCR, camcorder or DVD player, you can order these for just £4.95 each.  

Q: Which lead do I need?

A:  

• If your player features a set of three red, yellow and white jacks at the back of the unit then you will need a RGB to RGB lead to connect the Easy Capture to your PC
• If your player features a Scart socket at the back of the unit then you will need a RGB to Scart lead to connect the Easy Capture to your PC

Did not connect directly to VCR (Sony a per advert)as only composite video input sockets on VCR. Purchased a SCART with SCART and video connections and plugged to VCR output. Eventually able to see and capture video to .AVI. A Scart to USB would have been more useful than kit provided

Not 5 stars because I had some problems with the installation on my equipment. Had to return item for refund as it would not work. Product good and would have been value for money. It was easy to install driver except information it says you need to check in Driver Manager turned out to be incorrect.I was looking for EasyCapture but it shew up under a different name. My problem was I could not get an input signal for the image onto PC. Appears my VCR output was not high enough, due to age of VCR and thus I was unable to use it. Had there have been some indication that the item would only work under certain conditions that would have helped. Luckily a friend is an IT expert and found out why I could not get it to work. If it had of worked I would have given it 5 Stars!!!!! When I rang to say the Easy Capture would not work I was given a returns number without any hassle and within a few days of sending it back received a cheque.

I have to say that I am having a lot of problems getting sound to work on this product; however there are some forums around on the internet with suggestions, and when I get more time I will attempt to sort it. I am confident that it is not the fault of the product, just me needing to change something on my PC to get it to work
