Q: Can this unit accept sky subscription cards?
A: Unfortunately not. Only Sky Receivers can utilise Sky Subscription Cards.

Q: Can an existing Sky dish be used to connect to the receiver?
A: Yes

Q: Does the unit have a dual tuner system so as to enable record one and watch another or timeshift etc?
A: The unit is single tuner so would not allow for "record one and watch another" feature.  

Q: Does the box provide an EPG (electronic program guide)? If so, for how many days?
A: The item has a 7 day EPG function although some satellite channels still encrypt said data so only "now and next" data will be visible in those cases.

Q: How many channels can I preset ?
A: 5000

Q: Will this system upscale the programmes I view on it?
A: yes – up to 1080i

Q: Can I save my favourite channels to a favourites list?
A: yes – in fact up to eight users can save their own favourites list.

Q: Is it expensive to leave the unit on standby?
A: No, standby mode uses just 1 Watt of electricity.

Q: What can I do with the USB port?
A: you can connect an external hard drive or USB stick to record programmes up to 7 days in advance

Q: Does the box have an HDMI port for high definition connection to a TV
A: yes

Q: What definition do they broadcast HD in in the UK?
A: All HD channels in the UK broadcast at 1080i.

Q: What HD channels are available now (Jan 2010)?
A: BBC HD at the moment

Q: How much memory will be required to record standard vs high definition?
A: BBC1: 30mins = 929Mb = roughly 2Gb/hour. BBC HD: 30mins = 2.26 GB = roughly 4.5Gb/hour

Q: Is an HDMI lead supplied?
A: No

Q: What is the difference between the EasyFind ® LNB on the TRAVSAT2 and the Easy Channel Finder on the TRAVSAT1?
A: On the TRAVSAT2 the manufacturer has incorporated the easy channel finder technology (which assists the user in lining up their dish correctly) into the actual LNB ( low noise block) which is the device connected to the front of the dish. On TRAVSAT1 the easy channel finder is a small handheld device which you plug into your system (when you are setting it up) in order to line up your dish correctly for the first time. Therefore, the technology is the same on both systems - but is a little easier to use and is a neater solution on the TRAVSAT2, and you do not need to plug it into your system as it is already included within the actual LNB on TRAVSAT2.
