Q: Does this only transfer music or is it also a player?
A: It plays vinyl, tape, CD, and radio, AND ALSO transfers vinyl, tape, external audio sources, CD and radio to CD or MP3. So it is both a player, and a CD/MP3 recorder
Q: Can I connect my iPod/MP3 player and copy this to a new CD also?
A: Yes. Simply connect the iPod to the 3.5mm line-in jack, press play on your iPod, and record on the CD burner. To separate tracks you will need to press the ‘track separation’ button (as you would when transferring vinyl to new CD)
Q: Can I record Radio directly to CD using this machine?
A: No, you will need to connect an external radio player to the unit via AUX IN to record radio to CD. Alternatively, the Steepletone Edinburgh Music Player / Recorder does record radio directly to CD
Q: How do you ensure ‘track separation’?
A: This is addressed on page E7 of he instructions. Briefly, the ‘manual’ way to separate tracks is to press the Track Separation button on front panel whenever you want to separate tracks. The ‘automatic’ way can be set to 3 different sound levels -20db, -30db and -40db in essence this senses the pause.. so for pop and speech on auto you would use -20db, but for say classical, were there can be pauses within the track -40db would be best.. for definite track separation manually pressing the TS button is best

A: This website and the advert states the speakers are 20 watts PMPO and the speakers state they are 5 watts RMS. They are therefore both correct, just different measures
