The Steepletone Edinburgh music centre allows you to play vinyl, CDs, tapes or FM/MW radio and record vinyl, CDs, tapes or radio direct to CD – all at the touch of a button and without a computer.
Now you can convert old vinyl and cassettes to digital and make copies of your existing CDs – all without a computer. It is incredibly simple to use: just select and play your chosen record/tape/CD, press record on the in-built CD recorder (burner) and transfer your music onto a new CD.
You can even connect any external audio device (e.g. 8-track recorder, reel-to-reel player etc) to the unit’s line-in Aux input to record this to CD too.
An optional matching stand is also available for just £39.95. It measures 56cm H x 47W x 38D and has a built in shelf for storing CDs and records.
Q: Who do I call for technical assistance?
A: Steepletone’s UK customer services team: 08457 585 6811.
However, the instruction book is easy to understand and the machine is incredibly simple to use –so you should not need any assistance!
Q: How is the unit powered?
A: Using the AC mains electric (lead supplied)
Q: Does this only transfer music or is it also a player?
A: It plays vinyl, tape, CD, and radio, AND also transfers vinyl, tape, CD and radio to CD. So it is both a player, and a CD recorder.
Q: Can I connect my iPod and copy this to a new CD also?
A: Yes. Simply connect the iPod to the 3.5mm line-in jack, press play on your iPod, and record on the CD burner. To separate tracks you will need to press the ‘track separation’ button (as you would when transferring vinyl to new CD).
Q: Can I connect additional speakers?
A: No, but you can use the Audio-out (RCA) jack for connecting to and playing via an additional stereo system – therefore you can amplify the sound by using the connected stereo systems speakers
Q: What is the speaker output?
A: The Edinburgh has stereo speakers (2 x 5watt speakers RMS) and the power output of the speakers is 25 Watts pmpo (peak music power output).
Q: What colour finish options are available for the Edinburgh?
A: The Edinburgh is finished in high quality full natural grain real-wood effect veneer. It is a music system but also an attractive piece of room furniture. It is available in two colour finishes
1: Light Oak (this is shown in the ‘tape cassette’ close up image)
2: Dark Oak (this is the main image): it is slightly darker and warmer than the Light Oak. The manufacturer’s Steepletone call this wood effect ‘Paprika’ (on the product packaging) but we feel ‘Dark Oak’ is a more accurate description.
