Telescopic hedge trimmers could see popularity boost
A telescopic hedge trimmer might make a useful purchase after one expert suggested the current popularity of gardening is set to continue.
Kris Collins, gardening editor of Amateur Gardening, said he disagrees with industry figures who claim the home-grown produce bubble is set to burst in the next year.
"The grow-your-own boom is still continuing", he stated, adding a lot of people are planting fruit and vegetables in containers at the moment.
Mr Collins attributed the trend for growing fruit to Carole Klien's book and TV programme on the topic earlier this year.
Another developing movement in gardening is the shift from ornamental to wildlife-attracting water features, he continued.
Mr Collins explained people are designing ponds to make them suitable for housing creatures, in the same way that concerns for sustainability and nature has drawn individuals to planting their own fruit and vegetables.
And those planning to spend more time in the garden might wish to invest in a telescopic hedge trimmer, which can extend up to 4ft 10ins.
