Slide scanners could be great for skiers

A slide scanner might prove useful for those heading off on a skiing holiday this year.

According to Ian Davis, product director at Crystal Ski, bookings for this type of break have increased.

There has been a rise in popularity for destinations across the board, he continued, with Andorra, Bulgaria, Switzerland and the US proving to be particularly popular.

"In terms of volume destinations, France and Italy are both having double-digit growth," Mr Davis added.

Furthermore, recent figures from Directski.com revealed ski holiday bookings are up by 45 per cent year-on-year in comparison to 2009.

And people about to embark on a skiing break may find the most convenient way to capture their holiday memories is to take a disposable camera and purchase a digital film scanner.

This gadget allows users to transfer negatives and slides into digital files that can be saved directly to an SD card and played back on a computer or digital photo frame.
